When chicken feed ain't chicken feed
So here is the latest edition to the Roberts-Kodiak household. It now stands at two 30 something adults, a little boy, a little girl, two dogs, a cat, a 20 year-old Ecuadorian and four chickens. We are trying our hand at raising some egg-layers. We got four chicks, each a different breed. Those of you that don't live on a remote island in the Gulf of Alaska we'd be curious as to what you might pay per chick, but probably a bit embarassed to tell you what we had to pay for them and their feed. We should recoup our cost in eggs somewhere around the year 2026. Wynne is of course thrilled to have them. The really fun thing about having a little person with baby chicks is the naming, and they get new names every day. So far some names already used are: Henny Penny, Dora, Sara, Percy, Bill, Little Red Hen, Baby Jaguar, Chicken Little, Doy and Minerva Louise.
