Denali Road Trip 2006

We were once again fortunate enough to win the Denali Road Lottery. Elizabeth and Gregg, along with their friends Robby and Charlotte spent yesterday driving approximately 180 miles while in the park. Highlights were: 16 grizzly bears, 8 wolves, a couple of moose (one absolutely gigantic one), a dozen or so caribou, numerous Dall Sheep, and most surprisingly - sunny skies. The only unlucky part of the day came toward the end when we were all attempting to do a hike. Robby slid down a hill and accidentally discharged his bear spray, which got him in the mouth and nose. For the next 45 minutes he experienced quite the burning sensation. He is though no worse for the wear. We will put more pictures of the day up soon (they have yet to be downloaded).
