We arrived safe and sound to Bethel on Sunday. So far so good, it is strange to come from all the mountains to a place where the sky seems to go on forever without end, and where you hear languages other than English. In fact sometimes it feels like you are in a different country, but you are brought back to the realization that you need american dollars to buy things....lots of them, like almost $5 for a gallon of gas, and nearly $9 for a large bag of potato chips. At the grocery store today there was a barge special, 36 cans of Pepsi for the low low price of $19. The strange thing about this house (which is fairly normal) is that it may very well have nice hardwood flooring and up-to-date appliances as people worry much more about the inside of their house than the outside.
